Alpina D3
Alpina D3 to have CO2 figures
R Russell
For the first time some Alpinas will have VCA approved CO2 figures. Since the start of the year Sytner has been putting imports of D3 Bi-Turbos through the Low Volume Approval scheme. For specific cars the type approval figures from Germany will find their way on to the V5. Such cars are likely to benefit from much lower company car tax.
In previous years buyers were tempted by the low CO2 figures, only to discover that they did not apply, and so were taxed based on the engine size. We even saw full page advertisements in some car magazines promoting their low emissions but drivers would have been disappointed to see the blank section of the V5.
Starting at 143 g/km for the new D3 Bi-Turbo saloon, the figures are impressive in relation to performance, but be careful you get a 2009 car. We will add the CO2 figures to the Comcar database where known.
